A defendant’s motion to continue must include a waiver of speedy-trial rights.

A guardian ad litem interim report must be filed with the Magistrate at least 14 days before a hearing involving the allocation of parental rights.

A written continuance motion must be served on the opposing party.

Any requests for extensions of discovery deadlines should be filed as soon as it becomes evident that an extension is needed but no later than the first pre-trial.

An entry affecting a pending matter set for hearing, arbitration, or mediation must be delivered to the Assignment Commissioner for cancellation; a copy of the motion and entry satisfies the requirement.

Plaintiffs’ exhibits must be numbered from 1, Defendants’ exhibits lettered from A, joint exhibits marked with Roman numerals from I, and exhibits must identify the marking party when there are multiple Plaintiffs or Defendants.

The opposing party has five business days to file its opposition memorandum and supporting documentation.

A security deposit for costs in the amount listed in Appendix A is required upon filing, though the Court may revise the deposit and fee schedule.

For good cause, the Court may order confidential documents filed under seal by the Clerk; sealed documents are inaccessible without the Court’s permission.

Compliant pleadings and documents not excluded by Rule 3.5 may be filed by fax or email and are accepted as the effective original filing.

Fax or email filings may not exceed 30 pages excluding exhibits unless the court has given prior approval.

The motion and proposed entry must be filed together for a qualifying nunc pro tunc or modification request.
