Circuit Court of Monroe County, Illinois (24th Judicial Circuit) Filing Rules

A petition to admit a will to probate must have attached a copy the petitioner believes is the testator’s valid last will.

Documents exempt from electronic filing must be filed during the Circuit Clerk’s regular business hours.

An objection to a scheduled remote hearing must be made by a timely filed motion properly noticed for hearing.

Courtroom equipment must be unobtrusive and must not create distracting sound, light, or other sensory distractions.

Mediation must be completed within seven weeks of the first conference, unless the court orders an extension or the parties stipulate to one.

After an exhibit is admitted at the hearing, the Circuit Clerk must upload it to the official court record through the designated case management program.

Unless the Court orders otherwise, the Clerk must seal each Financial Affidavit presented for filing, with access limited to the stated courts, parties, attorneys of record, and persons the Court directs.

The person seeking to affect the parties’ marital status, or their attorney, must present the listed prove-up documents to the court in a single package before testimony begins.

A dispositive motion cannot be scheduled for hearing unless the opposing party has had an opportunity to reply.

A party lacking necessary technology must contact the Circuit Clerk at least 24 hours before the remote hearing to request an in-person hearing.
